Dear ethnobotanists,
As you may know, psychotria viridis is an Amazon Basin plant whose leaves contain DMT. Thus, the plant is most often the key ingredient in ayahuasa. Does anyone know where I can get some fresh, viable seeds? Thanks in advance, psychonauts.....wavespell

Actually, as long as it's legal and as long as the person selling it is a sponsor*, it's OK to post sources.

I completely forgot about the verified sponsors we have on this site. Thanks.

Just wanted to chime in to OP, seeds can be a bitch to start. I started my chacrunas from seed almost 9 months ago. They can take up to 2 months to finally sprout, so don't lose patience. Also, because they can take so long, you can run into mold issues having to keep your medium moist and humid for so long. I used a mix of potting mix with very little wood-bits in it (pick them out if you have to), then mixed in a decent amount of vermiculite. You could probably use perlite too, just an inorganic substrate that holds moisture. I also nicked the seed coats and soaked them for about 6 hours or so (you should probably soak them overnight, I got hasty). I hear people using bleach and whatnot to clean the seeds before planting, I think that is ridiculous... Don't do that. I think its totally overkill and you will risk killing your seeds. Just keep them in a totally constant, 75 degree, 75% humidity place out of direct sunlight, and cover with a little humidity dome. Good luck!

Forget seeds. The germination rate is abysmal. Hashfinger is to be commended for getting any results at all. That takes amazing patience and real attention to the needs of the seeds and plants. Good job!
For a much easier time, what you want is to propagate by using a fresh set of leaves. Bury them about 1/3 into loamy soil and spray daily. They will send out roots and in two to three months time a new plant will spring forth. See pix, below.

Yeah that's fantastic once you have a plant established, but I don't know too many places who ship leaf cuttings. I love my little chacruna babies. I have plucked off the cotyledon and they all have sprouted roots!

Not too many places, but there are individuals who will send you leaves. That's how I got mine.
OP just needs to find and join the right forum.
