Are they edible?

Want to know if this mushroom is edible.
Habitat: Pine and other woods (mixed), in New York State.
Gills: No gills. Has spongy pores.
Stem: yellow with black texture on it. A little less than 1 cm in diameter. (see picture. we are not sure if this kind is "chicken fat mushroom", because of the black element on the stem.)
Cap: Yellow
Spore print color: When cut in half along stem, stays yellow.
Bruising: No bruising when cut at any angle.
Other information: In the same area, we also found lots of "Chicken Fat Mushroom" whose stems are yellow, have bigger diameters, and have orange texture on them, instead of Black.

 thank you!

I'm thinking those are a Leccinum species judging by the stem, in which case they would be edible. I'm not a Bolete buff though, so wait for some more opinions on this.
Edit: I just saw this on wikipedia: "They have generally been presumed to be edible for the most part, but there are reports of poisoning after eating as yet unidentified members of the genus in North America, even after thorough cooking. The orange- to red-capped species, including L. insigne, are suspected. Species of Leccinum often cause nausea when consumed raw"
....so it would be important to identify these to species, though Arora mentions they are mostly edible except for some which may cause an upset stomach in some people.

I agree with Leccinum but I don't know about their edibility.

Thank you for the reply. I think they look more like Suillus americanus. Another possible guess I have is Xerocomus. But I can't tell the difference of the two from wiki.

I thought Suillis at first too but then I saw the scaber like stalk.
What do you make of that?

Not that my guess is educated, but I would guess Leccinum. Based on the stem, as well.

Slimy looking caps, pore shape & size, and the slightly decurrent pore attachment all point to Suillus.

I no see no slimy caps. How do you explain the stalk? No annulus like Suillis.

Haha, I don't know what to tell ya man. I vote Suillus all day.
Edit: They don't all have an annulus and some of the stipes do have those glanular patterns. Example.

Cool cool. My knowledge of suillis and leccinum are marginal. A bit more in depth now. Thanks.

In suillises the stalk is often granularwith nules not scaberous, these stalks push the line between granular and scabourous but the ones that dont show as much of this granulism/scaberism make me favor granules as granules are often optional in the species but the scabourosness seems more constant.
