Mushroom species 1
Habitat: Growing on lawn, well cut and fertilized grass, in a circle around a pine tree, not far from a tidal river, in Shediac River, NB, Canada.
Gills: Light orange to butter colored gills emarginate to the stem.
Stem: 10-20 mm long, 5 mm diameter, white color, dry to touch, very slightly fiberous like a wood grain going top to bottom, hollow. Brittle.
Cap: 20-30 mm, shades of tan brown on edge and light burgundy in center, darker in the middle. Was slimey when picked, smooth now. Distinct depression.
Spore print color: Yellow/bright orange
Bruising: No noticeable bruising
Other information:
A not very strong fishy/musky smell. Was about 20 of them growing around a pine tree. Noticed them there for about a week before I picked them. The edges of most of them has been damaged somehow. Had been raining a lot. Recent temperature drop, around here the leaves are starting to turn fall colors.
