Dub Tub- When to fruit/ how to avoid overlay

I am planning on using the dub tub tek, but i am a bit confused, As far as i can tell, the tubs remain closed after casing all the way through to harvest. What is the best indicator to know when to switch to fruiting conditions so that i don't end up with overlay? Will a temperature change be required to induce pinning?

god damn that is honestly hilarious and you succeeded in making me feel like a dumbass. I mean you win. I have abdominal pain from this friggin response but go ahead and clear it up for me.. how did i miss something so obvious to deserve this haha?!? Quote:

this is what the tek said,
"It is very important to note that the tubs should only be opened to case and to harvest. There will be no misting or manually fanning. The only exception to this rule is when the double tubs are placed in a room that has stagnant air during the fruiting phase. If this is the case, you can use a personal size, oscillating fan to move air around the room. Do not point the fan directly at the tub, as you will dry out the casing and/or your growing mushrooms... incubate again for 5 days by placing back into the room where it began and placing the trash bag back on top. You will do no patching during the incubation phase for the casing. The substrate will colonize the casing layer evenly and you're ready to fruits"
I didnt feel confident in this information written 6 years ago. It didnt say what amount of casing he used, and 5 days? is that accurate for any level of casing? Why the hell couldn't i patch for a more even pin set? as long as i am sterile, i dont see why that would hurt...
Just looking for more/ updated info!

Uhm, I'm just a noob myself, but I think I can figure his response out...
Overlay, according to what I have picked up from the more experiences growers here, is practically mythical... In the sense that it has very little basis in reality. Seems the consensus is "this is not a worry if you are cultivating cubes".
And please, correct me if I'm wrong guys.
Also, psilly; come on, play nice. You could have answered him instead; I know yer more capable than me

Sorry guys I couldn't resist. Op you really need to do a lot more reading and research. I don't even know where to start. And kj you are correct no need to worry about overlay. We fruit when the substrate is fully colonized (mostly all white)
Op check out these tek list https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163 https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14722698#14722698

Oh and if you want to do bulk I would recommend the monotub over the dubtub. Pretty much the same thing but the mono is easier. Frank has a nice write up in his tek list on how to dial in a mono properly that has worked great for me. I use franks wbs tek to prepare grains and his pasteurization tek to prepare my bulk substrate. TL has a nice lid tek for the jars in the link I provided.
