Active Gymnopilus in Japan?

Location: Central Japan Elevation is about 50 meters (165ft)
Habitat: Near a sandy walking trail in the middle of a park. This deciduous section of the park has been allowed to grow wild and matches the local hills.

Bruising:
As you can see there is some blue bruising near the base of the stem and on one of the caps. What caught my attention was a mushroom which I think was part of this group, whose caps was half purple. Does the discoloration mean that mushrooms are going into a state of decomposition?
Other information: I'm wondering, is this Gymnopilus? If so does it look like an active species? I've been so focused on finding Psilocybe that I didn't take my time in trying to identify or measure this specimen. I took this picture one day ago so I think I'll go back and take some measurements and spore print if it even looks close to something active.
Thanks again!

Great, man! Are you japanese? Here are not many people from there I think...so nice start :-). The mushrooms look a bit like Cortinarius, so wait for the spore print to be sure!
MND
p.s.: In Japan there are also other very nice active species (Psilocybes, like you said)....keep your eyes open :-)

Hm, not entirely sure if gymnopilus or cortinarius...although I see no clear cortina remnants and the clustered fruiting suggests gymnopilus. Interesting!

No I'm not Japanese. I was born in the U.S, but I don't call myself American...that's a whole other political philosophical discussion.
Yes I have been keeping my eyes peeled for about 2 months. Wow, it seems longer to me but I guess I've been hiking a lot. Well I've learned how sensitive mushrooms are to rain and how they seem to last only a week.

I saw your post about fantazutake...Japanese is a vague language. The problem was that Gymnopilus spectabilis is refered to as オオワライタケ(oowaraitake) The kanji(chinese looking characters)translates to "burst of laughter mushroom."
I went back to check out the shrooms I put at the beginning of this thread. I'll post in about an hour with pics and spore print.

This picture was taken at the same time as the first ones I posted. When I got home I didn't think it was the same species due to the white-purple gills which didn't match the brown gills of the other ones. But today I found this in mushroom on the ground where I left it.
I took a spore print and it was brown.(sort of matches the color of the cap)
The spore print isn't too good. The caps are drying out.
This pic is from another group of mushrooms down the trail a little. I believe it is the same species. You can see the spores on the leaves below.

When I cut into the flesh, it was white with a purple tinge.

It smells like a mushroom but a little soapy. The smell is a little stronger than store-bought shrooms.
These pictures are to give some measurements. Also underneath I didn't find any wood, just gravel.

Definitely look's like another Cortinarius sp with that first shot. The spore colour look's a bit more brown than orange.

I assumed "waraitake" to just mean laughing mushroom (any species that is active besides ibotengutake), but that is awesome they call Gymnopilus "oowaraitake" because they do inspire bursts of uncontrollable laughter. I know from experience.

I really think it is Cortinarius purpurascens (カワムラフウセンタケ) I'm going to have to translate the Japanese description.

I didn't get into this until some Panaeolus cinctulus popped up among my plants. Quote:
