There is so much to discover it reminded me of a lucid dream, it feels endless.
The PS4 will come out soon.. Graphics will be even more realistic and immersive. Digital worlds that could go on for unimaginable lengths. Each video game would be like its own world, own reality.
Haha.

dude...me too. I am scared for the world when virtual reality gets better and better..
I read a book once where the whole world spent every second of their free time in virtual reality, and that is scarily realistic to me.
If i could play a PERFECT game of virtual reality dungeons and dragons, what reason would i have to ever leave? I could have more fun than in real life, and I could even mate in the game.

Yeah definitely.
I thought.. Our kids will be like a different species from us. Growing up with virtual reality will completely produce a new kind of mind. A new understanding.
Or it could be the start of a global dystopia

Hahah, I used to play the shit outta Turok Rage Wars. Those games were great. xD
I'm still in love with GTA V. I love the story to it... it's very Rockstar-esque.

I hate to say it, but I'm really disapointed...
just can't get passed the driving physics, I feel like they took a giant step backwards, like a decade long step... I know some people hated the driving in 4, but it was my favorite part of the game.. sure, it coulda been tweaked a little, but what they did with 5 broke the game for me, driving around just feels, I dunno.. retarded
I wish I could look passed it, as everything else seems pretty slick, but considering how much time you spend driving in grand theft auto, I just can't.
I honestly feel like I'm playing crazy taxi, or that simpsons game

THANK YOU! The car damage, and the driving were MUCH better in 4 i thought. I really, really loved the driving and physics of that game much more.
I hit someone at top speed head on in GTA 5 and the cars barely look damaged...I'm pissed

what game are ya'll playing? cars handle and get damaged far more realistically in V.

I don't know about realistically but I definitely have more fun driving in V than I ever did in IV. I think this gripe boils down to a personal preference. I do see what you're saying about the driving - it's reminiscent of the older GTAs. But Crazy Taxi? I think that's exaggerating. Feels more like a Need For Speed game to me, and I'd personally rather have that than a Gran Turismo feel.
Damage is a similar gripe. I've been in a couple wrecks in my day - if the damage were realistic then you would total your car almost every time you hit something. So again, personally I'm glad they pushed it farther toward the opposite end of the Realistic/Fun slider.

This is realism:
This is much closer to GTA 4, which had a bit of soft-body physics. It seems GTA 5 has almost none.
Of course, most of us probably don't want our cars to be THAT soft, for gameplay purposes, but I felt GTA 4 had a nice balance.

When a piece of metal collides with a solid object, it dents. It is farrr too hard to dent the car in this.
and when it does dent, it looks very insignificant.
I agree that 4 had a nice balance between realism and fun. but you're right about it all being about personal preference.
The cool part is, if you have it on PC, you can probably just get mods to make it gta 5, but with gta 4 driving physics. thats my dream.

Superb game. I don't want to call it the "best game ever" yet but... 10/10 for me anyway.
The voice acting and scripting are excellent. I love the characters and the switching mechanic is incredible.
The graphics and audio are amazing, I'm playing it on ps3 through a sony 7.1 channel a/v receiver (hdmi) into a 46 inch 1080p 60hz led tv and surround sound setup. The lighting (especially), weather, live environments, textures, everything is great. Even the worst textures look very nice compared to other games.
As far as driving goes, I like it a lot more than GTA IV. In that game it felt to me like the cars handled like boats. And I personally like the new damage system for the vehicles. Combat mechanics don't seem that different from GTA IV but it works great. There is just too much to say about this game. I'm 50% through and there hasn't been a dull moment yet. This is the first game I have played that has truly felt "next-gen"

so been playing it pretty steady now for about a week.
I STILL hate the fucking car physics/damage model... I mean, I just pulled a backflip in a semi because I pulled back on the stick after a straight ledge... not to mention, I rammed I don't know how many tiny little compact cars, head on, at high speed and didn't even cause a dent in their car... of course, my semi stopped and the driver of tiny little car died... but WTF??... have you seen what happens when a semi hits a tiny car at highway speeds head on??...
anyone set up a car on a freight train rail crossing yet?...
do I want 100% realism... no, fuck no... but I really can't handle this ps2 level crash/vehicle damage either.
when I turn in a vehicle, it's like there is a pole driven straight through the middle of my car... and when I turn, I spin around the pole... does that make sense?
I accelerate to full speed in about 3 seconds no matter what vehicle I drive.. even in a bus/semi.. no feeling of weight in any vehicle, and it seems they all lack suspension?... the dirtbikes/buggies/quads feel almost the same as a sports car... fuck I could go on for awhile here
now... everyone was bitching about GTA getting too realistic?... so they dumbed the fuck outta the car physics, but then made it so you die after getting shot 2 times?, they added too m umm, nouch realism to the combat/character animations (which is still clunky as fuck) and dumbed the fuck out of the driving... my driving skills are 100% on each character, and I haven't really felt a difference yet.
I'm just not having as much fun this time around... sure, the missions are actually WAY better.. and the graphics are sic.. but it seems they missed the part where just driving around and fucking shit up for no reason other than the fact you could was actually FUN AS HELL...
this doesn't really feel next gen to me at all... well, it does when it comes to graphics/map size and trevor is prolly the best character they've come up with so far... other than that, it feels even more outdated than gta 4...
I do NOT want to say this shit, as I have been a die hard GTA fan since the very first one... and had super high hopes for this game.
again.. I AM having a good time playing the missions, but, but I just can't see me playing this installment for 5 years like I did with IV, or even san andreas.... it just feels too cheesy.
my humble opinion of course, and I had a hard time saying it... but I had to get it off my chest... a 10/10?... no... I give it a 7/10 tops... that might change after I finish it though, who knows

I have been playing it since I picked it up in town at the Gamestop at midnight when it launched. I have pretty much just been playing that and not doing anything else.
I love it. Some minor things bug me, but oh well it is still a really good game.
Funny thing is I put money down to hold my copy so I could pay for it when I went in at midnight and they handed me two copies and said it was already paid for.
