WE HAVE PINNING! (1st time growing)
    #18894367 - 09/26/13 02:44 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

This is my first grow. Moved 3 of my BRF cakes into the FC last week after doing the dunk and roll. 7 more BRF cakes are consolidating as we speak. I fanned and misted multiple times a day and didn't have any signs of pinning. I decided to not mist one night and only fan, woke up the next day and pins were popping out. I'm so excited

Now that these have pinned, should I only fan? Is misting recommended?

It's awesome to see those first shrooms!  Enjoy and yes...keep misting and fanning!  But do it lightly cause those babies bruise easily.  Don't freak out if you see some blueish color appear...that will be bruising from the misting and fanning...but it's normal.  Good luck!

If you fold the foil your cakes are sitting on smaller (the size of a cake), it will make for better humidity and airflow.

Congrats!

Do you have holes on all sides of your FC?
It sounds as if water isn't evaporating off your cakes,
and it seems to be lots of water or humidity on your fc-walls.

I didn't build a SGFC, not sure why. Right now I have a clear Sterlite container with perlite humidification. I fan and mist 6-8x a day. Should I convert this into a SGFC before my next flush? The shotgun allows for better air exchange/evaporation, if I'm correct??

Thank you all for your compliments and input. Much appreciated.

It took about 7 days from the birthed cakes in the fruiting chamber to pop out tiny pins. 2 days later I have multiple more pins forming, some which are quite large

Bad joss on that fruiting chamber, OP.  Definitely want to get that drilled out ASAP.

thank you, I will start drilling asap. What should I do with my cakes while I drill? Take them out of the FC for a few minutes while I drill? Will this be bad for the cakes?
