NW Puget Sound, up in the islands.
My second ever chanterelle find along with some puffballs (Lycoperdon pyriforme?) and other oddities. I'll be remembering this spot for sure! 1.5 lbs of chanterelles in under 2 hrs.. It's only just begun!

Can't wait to hit that chanterelle patch next week!
Just realized we were in so much of a hurry to pick those chanterlles we didn't get any pics of them growing in situ. Next time.

Thanks guys!
Yeah that was a treat! Frogs that size are rare around here, we usually just see the little guys near ponds and whatnot. Oh and by treat I mean it was cool to see, not that we ate him...

Follow up question regarding the puffballs:
Do you think my ID is correct? Are they edible?
They were on dead wood, around .25-1 cm across and pure white in the middle. The smell when I sliced them up is slightly reminiscent of truffles, but not as strong.
The interesting thing is they have been in my fridge for about 5 days and are still nice and white inside.
I want to eat them but I think I'll wait.

I guess the rule is as true as they say it is
Puffball + White inside=good
You have puffballs there for sure, just be aware they change to inedible as they age
