Big flow hood question

Got this fancy big-ass hepa filter, 3ftx4ft 99.99%, so we can do two person bag inoculation. 50 in like 45min or so. My question is regarding the gasket. I figured it would come as a single unit but it's really 4 smaller filters seperated by 1/2" particle board vertically, and more epoxy so the horizontal one is like 1.5" wide. So to cover gasket would be pretty complicated, maybe metal ideally. I could cut one giant 4x8 sheet of plywood, but that's like $50 if I use the same cabinet grade wood. Could I just leave the gasket bare? It's covered on the horizontal seperation and around the outside, with wood. I guess it needs to be wiped down every time, too. You can spray the filter with isopropyl, right?

Don't fuck with the gasket. Just leave it be. Yes you can spray the filter. It is spun glass. You can wipe the gasket too jut be careful not to damage the filter P.s. ur gonna need a bigger table pal

I have been advised not to spray the filter at all but rather leave it running. I have a 36"x24" and have another filter same size. I've been considering doing them side by side which would leave me roughly 1-2" gap in between filter. I know most people say you don't need sidewalls but I think in cases like this it wouldn't be a bad idea along with a roof so that while there may be a gap no dirty air gets sucked between the gap and you know everything coming out within the containment is clean at least.

Imma keep spraying it like joe said, it's glass fabric which is mindblowing to me, but isopropyl won't hurt it.

What percent do you plan on using or does anyone recommend? I've read the 92% evaporates before it can fully disenfect and I'm sure you don't want a large water content as well.

70 percent iso is the best concentration for sterilizing. or 10 percent bleach. the water is necessary as a carrier, esp in the case of bleach. more isnt better. although you CAN spray your filter, we rarely ever do. not much need to, but i would periodically wipe those gaskets down with an iso dampened paper towel.

That's the way I did mine. I modeled it after the one at Aloha. I figured they knew more than I did about them (by a mile) and why re-invent the wheel.
Polyurethane calk all around and between the two units. It's basically sealed to the side/top walls and the table. The sealant you see in the middle of the table is a partition between the two units so that two can work side by side without cross contaminating.

Very awesome man! I have seen alot of disregard for using these walls but seems like the way to go. I sometimes worry i will lift a bag too high when doing g2g's and catch some dirty air and this would prevent it. I love how wide yours is though and even though i'm a one man crew the idea of sticking my two filters side by side is very tempting.
