I got one from probably the same place as you did! Mine is about 2 1/2 feet from about this time last year it was about 10 inches. A lot of people say they are a less potent clone, backberg clone.

Yup, Pachanoi. Good eye. They'd do better in separate pots if you feel like repotting.

Yhea, if I was to eat mine I'd use 18 in. but when I heard it was less potent I decided to just keep it.

Im super bummed now
so true Pachanoi have long spines and the small spines are backberg?
Is it a complete waste to tar it?

The backberg clone is smoother. In a real pachanoi the V shape just above the aeriole is more pronounced. The spines are the same.
It should have some magic in it.

It's pachanoi but it looks like "PC-Pachanoi"
..never seen that "PC-Pachanoi" cactus in real life but I have seen spineless t. pachanoi and it's activity is strongest I know. But not similar to pics you have.. Nice cactus tho, but if you want took a trip out of it, I am not the person to say is it active or not.. Possible the weak clone you have there.
The strong clone I know to be very potent is looking like this:

That pachanoi clone in my picture are from south america where san pedro is cultivated in purpose to use the cactus as hallucinogenic beverage.
This potent clone have almost black aerole color and aerole size is very tiny, it has some small spines, later getting bluish coloration to skin and actual aerole is almost invisible compared to few trichocereus I have... Actually my another san pedro plants.. they have all big whitish aeroles and I don't know their potency at all.. But that south american cactus are indeed strongest san pedro I know and color of it's skin is bluish dark green, very dark green coloration with bluish tone. That cactus doesn't actually form V-shape coloration to skin so easily but skin goes blue later when new growth is old.

It depends on where you live. My wife's grandmother had a wall 30 feet wide and 12 feet tall.
