Will I be liberated?

Cow field, on the grass slopes, some dung around... thicker grassy clumps tended to be where I found these.
Gills?
Stems were about the length of an average finger :P I didn't keep the whole stem, so I broke the stems in half - so that they would fit into a typical tiny raisin box. I can only think these were baby mushrooms, as they are smaller than I expected.
I'm 99.9% sure these are liberty caps...

I was 99.9% sure until I picked the one in the middle here - It was originally a grey colour, sort of like a woodlouse colour, and the cap was slightly sticky to the touch. The other caps weren't and aren't sticky. So then this confused me a bit. But after some sunlight, as you can see that grey colour tanned the top half lighter like the other caps...

There is the middle one again...

Sorry the pictures aren't too clear, maybe that'll cause problems :/ my camera phone... Right, I'm ready to be disappointed Are these liberty caps? :S

Oh man, I sure hope so, but I'd rather not croak it by trying one unless I'm totally sure funnily enough...

If it's your first time , you show be looking at 30-50 caps for a nice trip . Use the search function and look for the lib tea Tek which works great if you don't like the texture . Those are 100% Lib caps so no worries about croaking

Yeah I get that, I just wanted to ID first. I couldn't actually find anymore and the cows were edging nearer. I'll go back there tomorrow probably. Thanks very much for your replies. I'm going to stick around.

How big do libs generally grow to? So, I'm at the same field right at this very moment, seems to be a lot more all that I have so far, are they most definitely liberty caps? I won't have to ask soon, just getting to know these smurfy-looking folks, you know. If I'm good to go, think I'll have them in a short while. Only eaten a bar of organic chocolate today, which is not ideal I'm guessing!

oh yah, the cows wont bother you either. I remember when I had a herd come at me and I ran away and every time I stopped and looked back they were closer and just staring at me. freaked me out! I admit, I am no farmer, and thankfully another shroomer learned me on how docile they are. They think you are the farmer coming to feed them. Nowadays I enjoy the cows as they linger around me whilst I work in the field. A bull is a different story.......

It's still a bit early here, I'm sure Cows are great, just never know how they might react. It's rare, but there are cases where people get knocked over and trampled in a stampede. I like their little haircuts, maybe that's just English cows
Thanks a bunch for the ID, man. Hope you get yours soon enough!

Well, I took what I got about ten minutes ago. I suspect it's not enough, but at least my body can get used to this new matter. I don't eat normal mushrooms, so it's a right foreign food this, ha. You should be able to find an abundance up there, I would have thought. I'm in the South East.

Thank you, my friend. Good luck when you go hunting next week. You going to stick around on this forum? Some people are forum flitters, flitter away after they've asked what they need to. I'm going to be sticking around, be great to get to know some people on here. Maybe we'll talk soon! Let me know how your hunting goes (and your first experience)! I'm feeling warm and tingly, hm. This might be something, or at least a pleasant death :P Take it easy!
