YOu will get much better results if you lay it out and case it...maybe mix it with some pasturized straw for even higher yields.

I'v been thinking mixing in some PC'ed brf(home ground), I'v thought about straw, but that would look really odd to the neighbors if they saw me carrying a bale of straw into my place

I think that i have been told that wal mart sells small little bales for hobby purposes...you could try that...believe me i have seen some 60 gram monsters come off of a straw/poo substrate, its quite amazing to see....like as long as my forearm, and about a quarter size in width.

probably not a bad idea...give it somemore nutrients to grow from...still gotta push the straw though, just go out to a farmers field and get a pillowcase full...ask the farmer first of course, i know around here if you ask the farmers they will let you go pick horse shit and straw till the cows come home, just say its for a compost pile for your garden...they dont give a shit after that!

I will use straw here one of these days but i'm not really set-up for straw, I'm trying to get used to casing one substrate right now,
But i know about farms being a cheap sorce for compost.
with the brf i think will PC it dry and mix it in my spawn and some moist vermiculite (PC'ec too), or i'll lair it in with the spawn.

What about using Hay(or alfalfa hay) instead of straw?

If you go to a craft store they sell little bags of straw. you don't have to buy an entire bale.

Can a multipurpose compost be used instead of poo?
