I believe that would be aerial mycelium coming off of a severely bacterial infected mycelium. We are not trying to be negative, but for the love of God don't be the black knight from Monty Python.

Well good i hope you get some fruits off of it but that thing is definitely infected with bacteria pretty bad. That doesn't mean you won't possibly still get some fruit though

You can always clone the center of the fruits to a LC, or Agar. This will allow you to isolate out the bad shit if there is any. I am slowly learning Agar, and my only advise is to buy really good petri's or a lot of disposable ones. Glad your getting fruits man.

Its perfectly fine to eat the mushrooms as long as they themselves aren't all slimy with bacteria or rotted. Being grown in the presence of mold is fine. Yes you can use the caps for spores. maybe just as they're opening so you don't get mold spores inside your gills. A great way to make spores clean enough or grain use: adhere a fish hook or piece of wire under a jar lid using silicone Fill the jar half way with clean tap water Pressure cook the jar with water in, lid on When cool, inside a still air box/flowhood, Quickly and carefully unscrew the lid and place your mushroom cap, gill side down, on the hook. The spores drop ono sterile water. When finished, ( in still air box ect) remove cap & suck up spore water into syringes
