Help a fella out...
    #1889309 - 09/06/03 09:33 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

Well I finally got my first fully colonized jar right now. Im still trying to figure out what lighting source I should use. Im tryin to think of something small. Maybe like those lights you can clip on to books and read in the dark. Will that work and is it enough light? If anybody else can give me some ideas on what other sources of light I can use and wont use much room, besides christmas lights I would appreciate it.

Yea but my set up is a rubbermaid container filled with water and a fish tank heater with the acttual fruiting chamber inside of that. So If I take it out I dont know how I will keep it warm enough.

How cold is your room? Damn. An incubation/fruiting chamber, anyways. Cut a hole in top of the fruiting chamber lid and put saran wrap or glass on the hole you cut out. Or just use saran wrap on top of the rubbermaid so you don't ruin your lid.

That wouldnt cost much would it? If I do get a flourescent light, attaching that to the main lid of the rubbermaid container should work right? so the light can go through the sides of the second container. or should I have it so the container inside have a square hole on it and cover it with plastic?

Well I do live in a basement so it can get cold some nights. I would say the average temp is around 65-75. But the rubbermaid is right next to a heating vent so that should help some.
