Question about contamination of bulk substrate

Im trying to wrap my head around somthin thats really confusing me; how/why is it that one is supposed to meticulously take care of spawn jars with lids and covers n everything so that the spawn does not get contaminated but then wen its ready how is it that the spawn grain is then poured into a bulk substrate of coir/straw or what have u, which is completely open to contamination attack?!! (The bulk substrtate)
I mean wudnt the whole process of incubating the spawn jar/s ever so meticulously become a waste if the bulk straw or poo or watever will be exposed to the open air?!

Fully colonized grains are contam resistant, just like pasteurized bulk substrate material.
This is how we can spawn in open air with little risk.

aye, bulk substrate pasteurization is your ally here. mushroom mycelium is aggressive and will outrun most contaminants in a monotub or tray.
