I'd say
Next time let it print for longer, until the cap shrivels a little bit and you can see the spore color without moving it. And print it on tinfoil.

Awesome! There isn't anything these could be that would be poisonous is there?
Also, I have a bit over a dozen of these growing in my side yard. But most of them are rather small at the moment. Should I water them? It's kinda cold here lately, are they going to be fine outside?

Is the stem brittle or flexible? Can you bend it in half without breaking it?

Im pretty sure I have these growing in my yard as well. I am in Michigan too. More responses from TI's would be nice. I'm curious.

Should p. subb stems be flexible or brittle? My suspects stems are flexible.

Am I the only one that thinks these are a bit off for cinctulus? Mostly the gills look off to me. Also the stem of cinctulus is usually a bit sturdy and not flexible. I would wait for a TI before you get too excited.

Seems this mushroom has many variations in identity.
You have Panaeolus cinctulus. I'd bet my life on it. I am not a TI, but I find cinctulus often.

Yeah I am probably wrong after looking at the closeup a bit more. The gills looked a bit different at first glance. But better than making the opposite mistake.

The closest look alikes to Panaeolus cinctulus are probably Panaeolina foenisecii, which is edible, and a lot of little Psathyrella species, which are not toxic either. You don't have enough cinctulus there for any experience, but you should keep saving up and hunting similar habitats!

I have lots of these growing in my yard. Some of them look a little different though. So could someone tell me if anything else that looks similar spore prints black? And how do I know when it's time to pluck them up? Also, what kinda weather conditions can cints make it through?

P. cinctulus should have a brown to redish, braided, flexible stem

When you say "mulch" what are we talking about? Like leafs and woody debris or like manure and straw and such?

Then go take some pictures of them before they get picked and mangled. Get photos of different stages and ages - then we can say with much more certainty what you have.

Like wood chips mostly. No manure. Some of them are growing on pretty normal looking soil.

kk, I added lot's of photos of them in there natural habitat. All of them I've spore printed so far have been black. Is there anything that looks similar that spore prints black? Also how much should I water these guys?

That helps a ton. Sorry those are not Panaeolus cinctulus.

Well that's a shame. How do you know? And what are they, if you do know?

Panaeolus cinctulus don't look anything like those. For starters they don't have striated caps. Also, their stems look nothing alike. What you have is probably a Psathyrella species. Your yellow ones are a Bolbitius. Keep hunting!
