Possible Ganoderma lucidum? (Reishi)

Hello everyone, I was out walking and I found what I believe to be a reishi mushroom. I was wondering if any of you knew how to prepare these fresh, or if I should dry them out. I picked it a few days after I found it because I didn't even know it was edible. It is slightly leathery but still somewhat soft. I foudn this growing on an uprooted oak tree a day after some good rains in Michigan

So there's no deadly lookalikes? Me and my friends want to make some tea with this but we want to be sure we won't get sick

Why does it look so nice and shiny in the in situ pic and so dull and beat up in the other?
-------------------- "Shrub, 30-90 cm. Leaves 2.5-) 4-9 cm, sessile or amplexicaul, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded to subapiculate or subacute, when crushed not smelling of goats." "The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

Because In the first picture, I took it right after a rain. I didn't realize it was a reishi until a day after (I didn't know what a reishi was until after I took the picture), so I went and picked it after it matured a little more.
The second picture is the underside

That could account for it.

Looks like Ganoderma lucidum.
They have no poisonous look-alikes. RR says that Mrs. Rabbit breaks up reishis and throws them in a pot with things like steak bones and vegetable scraps to make stock, then they use the stock to cook with. I think the process for making tea is simmering the ground mushroom for 2 hours, covered. You can powder it and take it in capsules, but good luck trying to powder them. If you have one of those vitamix blenders that can puree an iPhone, it might work. I think I might try the stock thing myself.
Good luck!
