First new SP in what, two years?

Plus, Always Sunny is funny, but essentially a completely vapid show. South Park has a lot more meat.

I mistyped 3rd option, that one is STAL.  If you aren't watching the new south park or at least always sunny you might as well be posting on totse.

I watch SP religiously, although I enjoy Always Sunny as well, but I just watch it when nothing else is on.

Always sunny is about as stimulating as Three's Company. Still, I watch it if it's on.

It might be, but south park is a lot deeper.  I love both shows, wish they weren't on at the same time.

Yeah it's basically just a more depraved Seinfeld.

South park is definitely a lot deeper, while Sunny reminds me of Seinfeld.

Really depends on my mood. I'm tempted to say South Park just because I'm pissed Sunny is on a "premium" channel of my cable service

Um...

Yeah they really aren't very similar aside from being comedies. Always Sunny is more comparable to say Workaholics, and South Park has more in common with The Simpsons.

I find South Park and Seinfeld funny, I could never get into Sunny Philly
I tried, I watched  a couple episodes of different seasons and just never cared for the humor.

Southpark for the win. Although I hope this season is better than last, which to me not very memorable, or funny

South Park only because Always Sunny got moved to FX's new station and my cable provider doesn't offer it.

Well I watched southpark since the 1st grade, so I think the older ones are way funnier and zanier.

Always sunny makes me laugh my ass of and is generally entertaining with the amount of time they use up.:mmmkay:

I disagree, South Park is a show that is up and down, thrown together week by week, and based almost entirely around mocking whatever bullshit happened recently in American pop culture.

It's Always Sunny on the other hand is an entirely original series, about trashy characters, with cleverly written jokes. It also has a better canon than south Park with more interesting and recurring characters.

South park spends a huge amount of their broadcast time just making fun of celebrities.

Agreed.

Either the episode is hilarious or stupid, mostly because every episode is one joke repeated for 30 minutes.

Remember that episode with Cartman and Cthulhu? Holy shit I wanted to punch my palm through my face every time it showed Cartman doing the stupid baby/dog talk with Cthulhu.

I think Always Sunny can be pretty spotty too.

This South Parks good so far though IMO
"Night government!"

South Park makes an effort to address any/all issues presently relevant, and that's awesome to me. That's why I said I think its deeper.

Since someone mentioned Family Guy, IMO-
American Dad > Cleveland Show > Family Guy.
I don't go out of my way to see them, but if they're on

I agree, I cant remember the last time a show made me laugh as hard as that ep where the bum was jacking off in the alley.

Also, I'll admit last season of its always sunny definitely wasn't the best, but this season has been better than I expected. That first episode had me laughing so hard.

They try to hard by prolonging jokes, and using repetition. Plus their attempts at over exaggerating accents are just pathetic.

Okay, just wait a few more seasons. They literally can't do a movie because of their contract with FX.

GREAT Poll.  I'm glad the results are currently 19 (sp) v 20 (ias).  i'm a huge fan of them both.

South park, with its genius plots and devilishly funny puns on character traits, is a good deep laugh for those who know and love it will.  IAS is a nice mix of everythign.  great plots, funny jokes, and great execution by a cast filling quarky roles.

I can't complain about either.  love it

Both suck. South Park's basically worn itself out over the years.
Always Sunny has been televised diarrhea since the start, entirely void of anything thought-provoking or truly funny.

I don't hate South Park. It's just run its course and strays alarmingly close to banality these days.
I don't watch TV all that often. Law and Order is probably the most you'll hear me talk about for TV.

House was good for two seasons, Dexter for three or so.

When I first started watching House, I thought it was a really good show. Then you discover the stories are like mad-libs... The same shit each time with a few blank spaces filled in with random diseases.

Law and Order is the same.

I haven't seen a lot of House but I caught the end of one kinda recently where Wilson(?? the oncologist) got cancer. Checked it out online and found out that it was the 3rd or 4th to last episode, so I watched the last few.

They were pretty good IMO

I kinda thought it was an ad-lib show too, but I always watched it periodically.

House got old once I came to the conclusion that the writers would continue with utterly one-dimensional characters who are almost entirely lacking any meaningful development outside of their interactions with the eponymous character.
In other words, Hugh Laurie was the only interesting facet of the show. The medical mad-lib game got boring pretty quickly.

And yes, L&O is basically the same thing.

You get stuck watching a poorly written show because you want to see how it ends.  I get the feeling everytime I'm halfway through an interesting poorly written movie, its like "well I invested this much time I might as well see how it ends."  House was such an interesting character though (because of good acting) you got drawn in to him.  Really though, House and Law and Order both sucked but it was interesting enough to hook you in and then next thing you no the episode is over.  Most of the time the endings were even less impressive than the episodes.

Plus, Always Sunny is funny, but essentially a completely vapid show. South Park has a lot more meat.

Couldnt agree more.
Also, I find it pretty funny that your bashing SP and you have a southpark avatar

That's because sometimes South Park is incredibly clever and hilarious. See all the episodes with Canada.

I gotta go with South Park because like someone else said it's a lot 'bigger' than Always Sunny. Always Sunny is amazing and they have their moments but as far as layin' down some life fucking lessons it's gotta be South Park. Always Sunny used to do this more but kinda got away from it. I've just seen so many episodes of South Park over the years where they take a real life event and flip my understanding of it on it's head or show what's really going on in a smart way. South Park always does that shit. Matt and Trey are comedic gods. They probably only have South Park still going for the paychecks to fund their other shit, they were talking about ending it years ago. I bet they have less and less to do with the episodes.

I've been watching southpark since I was a little kid and I've only been into sunny in Philly for about 2 years .

Both are great shows , but I'd have to go wth southpark because its probually my all time favorite tv show. I've been saying that  forever haha

Sometimes always sunny in Philly makes me laugh " alot  "harder than southpark. Always sunny I. Philly has a great cast and  awesome scenarios that they make hilarious everytime.

I have not seen an episode of always sunny in Philadelphia that I didn't like. There are a few  southpark episodes I don't like

P.s last nights southpark episode , did cartman sound like he was sick or have a raspy voice
& did butters sound like he"s finally reached puberty ? The characters all sounded a little different

I think they run every detail of the entire show. I saw Book of Mormon the week before it opened on broadway... What they call previews, where the producers can work out the kinks, but with a week to go it is pretty much ready to go. Anyways, we had standing room tickets, which just means you have a spot to stand at the back of the theatre. The entire show, Matt Stone or Trey Parker were standing next to me watching the show and the audience reactions. It was pretty surreal. Then at intermission my friend got felt up by James Bond and then we went and had a cigarette with Kathleen Turner

I need to see Book of Mormon everyone I've talked to about it says it's amazing. South Park has literally changed my views on topics or in a roundabout way informed me or whatever, I don't think Always Sunny has ever done that definitely not as often as South Park does. Early South Park is amazing in it's own right kinda in the way I'd say Always Sunny is, later South Park is more preachy and pop-culture but at the same time still really fuckin' good.

Southpark was awesome at first because it was a cartoon, full of children that would curse every sentence. That's it, that's all they EVER had going for them.

And yes, L&O is basically the same thing.

I can't hate on the Law & Order too much. That show paid for my health insurance for a number of years. (Koods has a wife who acts occasionally. She did just enough work on the show to get the SAG insurance for us. Gotta love unions!)

If you cannot realize the comedic genius of Always Sunny In Philly then please go jump off a bridge. If you actually think that a cartoon like South Park is funnier than Sunny In Philly then please please PLEASE stop taking so many fucking drugs because they are screwing up your feeble brain.

Then this was Charlie's reaction after he thought about it for a few seconds...

Then this was the reaction they had after they realized they are wwwaaayyy funnier than any stupid lame immature cartoon show...

Then these people showed up because they were mad...most likely these people have accounts on the Shroomery...

This is the reaction of Dennis & Mac after they read through this thread and realized how many unfunny dummies there are on this website...

South Park was funny about 52 years ago when it first came out and was edgy...now its just a played-out constant remake.

Sunny In Philly keeps it fresh & funny.

If you need either of those things explained to you then there is no hope for you.

I used to dislike Sunny because I never actually sat down and watched it.

One of the best comedies on television. If you disagree, what do you watch that is so funny? South Park is already out of the question, it's humor is very juvenile. Not to say I dislike it, but it is a lot more hit or miss compared to Sunny.

Yes, Always Sunny is definitely one of the best comedies on America TV right now. That dude probably watches Will & Grace and Everybody Loves Raymond re-runs. And he also watches American Idol. Hey VivaLaMooshie...enjoy your Paula Deen cooking shows. MAKE SURE TO USE EXTRA BUTTER!!

you on the rock bro?

South Park has 4 times the longevity of its always sunny, and dont even try to tell me that its always sunny isnt already stale. The past two seasons have been pretty terrible.

"The Gang Recycles The Trash?" Seriously? An episode that admittedly regurgitates all their best of moments?

Put down the pipe yo.

Apples and oranges. Both are excellent shows. Southpark is more serious normally and ends with a moral. Sunny is just a group of low class drunk idiots screwing everything up hilariously.
