We did this large fungal bio filtration install last week at the town hall in mars hill nc. Paid for by grant money. We used 250 lbs of spawn to knock up six cubic yards of very fresh tulip poplar chips. We did burlap bags of elm, stropharia, columbinus, ostreatus, pulmonarius, and coprinus. We also knocked up chips for mulching the steep slope bio retention units you see in the pictures. We chose all native plants including false indigo, coreopsis, milkweed, prairie drop seed, and pink mulygrass. Special thanks to Tim Ormond of Hydrocycle Engineering and Baily Mundy of Madison County soil and water conservation for making it all happen. Enjoy!

Serious question, did you have to pay any royalties to Stamets and company for using this idea? From what i've read you are not legally allowed to use his methods which I think is ridiculous considering he writes books explaining how to do it.

Yeah Stamets seems like kind of a douche, IMO. I think AV has already dealt with this issue...

Read the thread and it brings up a big issue in mycology at the moment. I would still like a definitive answer to what the expected response is from team Stamets should you forgo a project of this level. I'm guessing he just got by on his own safe feeling by using different names?

technically, they could sue my balls off. I haven't heard a word from them. In a way I wish they would threaten me. They have in the past, but for an issue related to their spawn. I have decided that I am not going to hide. Ultimately, this will bring out the true nature of everything and I am trying to be optimistic about HIS rationale for patenting these techniques. I am taking him at his word for now. That he patented all this so some big corporation wouldnt take advantage of the technology to make money. Time will tell I suppose...

Thats what I'm saying!! I'm glad to see you having success with your project. I once dreamed of doing similar but have been scared off that dream by reading about his patents. If something does come up you have my support and I'm sure the support of almost all members of the shroomery. Like you said, I'd like to see him say something so that people can be made aware of his actions should he ever act on his patents. Like others, I'm hoping for the best though because he has and shares great ideas and I'd like to be on his level some day and you are getting there

No offense to Stamets, since I do have a good amount of respect for the man, but fuck the US Patent office! Find every loophole available and exploit it like every politician does the law! Use biodegradable bags of whatever sort, different strains, doing it through a non-for-profit organization... There is no judge in their right mind that would award Stamets for someone using a variation of his "patents" for non-profit community restoration! Can you imagine the uproar in the "Green Community" if they did!?!
