substrate after harvesting question

Just picked most of my first flush of a mono... going to pic the rest of them later on tonight.
After I had picked them, the substrate beneath where I had plucked them from was pretty much just that... substrate. Very little myc in the spot they were picked from (twist and pulled big clusters). I used spawn > coir, no casing layer but I did save some coir for the top layer after I mixed.
Is this a normal thing after a flush? Or did I perhaps fruit my mono too soon? It was maybe 95% colonized on top before I started noticing pins, so I fruited it. I couldn't see the substrate underneath because of using a liner (I definitely won't be using one again...)
Not sure if I should be expecting a second flush or not, but I surprised myself with the first flush, being this was my first mono. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, but that's not what I was asking at all.

if its colonized on top its colonized on the bottom. i think liners are used to prevent side pins.
you pulled the myc out thats why its was pure sub. not because it wasnt colonized.

You just pulled the visible myc off. If it's fruiting, it's colonized all the way through. The divots will form over with more visible myc given time.

You can do it either way. I get better second flushes when I twist & pull, regardless of the divots.
OP, you're fine. Dunk and put it into fruiting again.

I still got some side-pinned mushies, nice ones actually, just very very... wet. I'll compare to my next go without a liner.
But thanks, I was wondering if that was a normal thing to see or not. When I harvested the rest a few hours ago I twisted with a little more confidence. Plus more room in there to stick my hand in. It seems a little bit better, next time I may try scissors.

Is my understanding that the bare sub has no chance of recolonizing? I should be looking for "knotting" of some sort?

I was going to go with what RR said at one time that pouring some water on the sub and side, then draining through one of the side holes a few hrs later is good... What if I missed some pins on the side of the sub? Should I be worried that they might rot and cause problems?
Thanks for the input everyone!

Nothing to worry about, both the side pins and the bare spots can grow over and recover depending how well the tub is doing. You said the mushrooms were very wet, sounds like it needs less misting and more FAE.

If you left "pins" then they should grow to full maturity unless they abort. Leftover aborts will not cause problems though, mycelium will just start to grow over them just like they would on the stumps left behind if you were to cut at the base.

i think your just suppose to pour water on the edge of the sub and it will soak from underneath if im not mistaken.
i dont think you pour water on the top of the sub.
