ID problem
    #18888707 - 09/25/13 10:47 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Im looking at a bunch of mushrooms I found recently, for some time now.

I think they are p.cyanescen, on account of the colour of the stalk and the appearance of the cap.

Have managed to identify that they are not many of the common look-alikes mainly by way of the stalk. It's not yellow, or mottled, doesn,t have a vail.. the stalks arn't dark, but very pale.

Only think that is putting me off is that they don't seem to bruise.. let alone bruise blue. But did read an account of hunter who has picked over 1000 p.cyanescen and found only 3 to bruise blue.

any thoughts / advice ?

Where are you located? Where did you find them? Post a photo.  I have picked thousands of P. cyanescens and every single one has bruised pretty intensely.

Seems like you've found some Marasmius oreades. Definitely not Psilocybe cyanescens.

Active species will only numb your skin if you ingest them, touch alone would not bring that effect unless you were in the extreme minority that is allergic to these or the area was recently treated with chemicals.

Many mushrooms can appear to have a similar scent. These are not liberty caps or any other psychoactive species...that you can be 100% on.

yes. was surprise to find that scotch bonnets leave a white spore mark !.. but scotch bonnets can be identified by their pale slender fiberous stalks.
