found in park on the stump in big cluster. cap 12-13 cm in diameter, light gray/brown, more dark in the middle. gills big and wide, not attached, color somewhat pink. spores probably pink. stem white, relatively easy-cracking, non-fibrose, 10cm long. flesh white and soft. no bruising or milk. smells intensive, close to smell of pluteus.

Hm, maybe an agrocybe species? I doubt the spores are pink, btw. Pink gills doesn't mean pink spores. In fact, I bet these would leave a brown print.

Clustered like that? That's odd. I never find more than 3 or 4 of them in the same spot, and they tend to fruit gregariously.

its not agrocybe. i eat them all the time so i can see the difference. agrocybe have fibrose stem and those dont. also this clearly smells like pluteus, and gills of agrocybe are darkbrown, not pink. so i guess it could be p. cervinus, unusual one, with much more light color of cap.

yes, thats wat cofused me also. i always find pluteus growing alone (another species not cervinus).

The last two shots are definitely some Pluteus with a flabby silky brown cap and a scabrous stipe. Maybe it is a different Pluteus.

Funnily enough I just picked from a little cluster of P. salicinus and there were rows of small P. cervinus-like mushrooms about on the wood, getting manky so I didn't collect. I should get to grips with this genus, I find loads of interesting specimens.
