I would not even eat them if I found them. I can find safer ones easily and only like taking relatively low doses once in a while.

Sorry, didn't mean to single you out, just a pet peeve of mine. Putting the cart before the horse like that is why there are so many observations at MO called something like Coprinopsis lagopus which are probably something else.
Seriously, though, who's going to scope these?

Joust is the most experienced and closet person to him, I vote he do it.... Can I do that? Well anyway, I nominate joust to do it. They really look a lot like the smithii I've had microscopy done on a few times, I would be willing to bet $10 2:1 to any takers that they are indeed smithii.

Awesome find! Crazy about the P/C. rugoso/filaris growing almost with them. The first time I found P. cyanescens I was holding a deadly Conocybe/Pholiotina I'd just picked to look at and looked down and almost tripped over a clump of cyanescens.
I could be wrong but I think those deadly guys are Pholiotina rugoso, I believe P. filaris has a darker stipe and a paler annulus, but that could be backwards.

Joust would do a good job, but I never feel right suggesting someone do so much hard work when they probably got many of their own collections to scope.

Yes your absolutely right. I should say potential C smithii.
Paul Kroeger is going to scope them here locally but id definetly like someone from here to do it too, preferably someone who can do really accurate measurements as that is the only difference between smithii and cyanopus. You wonder if maybe they are the same , only measured by 2 different people . DNA would be interesting.
