No I didn't finish it, I don't plan on touching it again for a long time. I did maybe 35mg tops over the course of 7 hours and I feel like shit. But I'm HIGHLY sensitive to any stimulants. And no I didn't sleep. Still can't sleep and it's pretty much done.

True story.
So? I am hardly ignorant of the effects of meth. I know it can be addicting to some people, just the same as other drugs can be. But it's not some demon that is to be scared of. It's just an amphetamine that some people like to abuse, and unfortunately those people tend to dominate all users, as other users don't really display the "meth head vibe". As for your story, sorry to hear that - would you like me to share a story about how alcohol wrecked someone's life who I was close to? Should I go on a rant demonizing alcohol and saying no one should touch it and refuse to touch it with a ten foot pole? Or should I instead look at the pharmacology and addictiveness of alcohol and realize that addiction - while sad - is not the fault of the drug but the user attempting to fill some hole in them with a drug, be it opiates, benzos, meth, alcohol, etc... So why don't you do this for meth? Sometimes understanding the pharmacology of a drug will do wonders to not being ignorant of its effects.

He just wanted to try it, and he can't even get more if he wanted. Why can't someone try a drug just one time?
If an uneducated kid starts doing meth at 16 due to a jackass dealer that convinced him it was awesome, sure, I can tolerate that, the kid didn't have a chance.
But when a grown man, aware of all the dangers willingly tries a drug like meth just to see what it does, that's where I get pissed off. Why would someone that doesn't know what meth does, therefore doesn't crave it, go ahead a potentially add a future of trouble in his life that he spent years to build???
Sure, he might be part of the people strong enough to resist, but why would you fucking risk it!!! There are enough addicts in the street robbing people for pennies as it is. The world doesn't need more problems.

Coke, meth, alcohol and H are the drugs I despise. Do anything else, I don't care.
If they were all legal I'm 110% sure that it would reduce the crime and that addicts would sober up and stay clean more easily.
I have a alcohol problem myself and I hate myself because of it even though it doesn't have any impact on my life. So guess how I feel when I see someone stealing shit to buy a rock...

The meth starts out with glamorous fun times, but quickly turns it's ugly head. You'll be sitting in dark rooms with strange people, and a regular at the pawn shop before you know it.
It WILL consume you if you keep using, all it takes is one time before it hooks you. Sounds like it has already. Be careful, it's not to be taken lightly.

Hmm I wonder why this has not happened to me or the other countless people who use meth responsibly? P.S. the whole "one time before it hooks you" is drug war propaganda nonsense.
It's important to actually understand dangers - not just run with whatever you read on a DARE website..

I wasn't quoting drug war news, but my real experience with it. I do tend to have a very addictive personality though.
Meth is hardly responsible...in any fashion.

I've seen quite a few people get hooked from taking it only once.

I tried it twice, I have no desire to ever do it again. Ya think maybe so many people get hooked the first time because everyone around them tells them that they'll get hooked the first time?

I used it almost daily for a year, after a night my brother came home with "this good shit!"
I sold all my prized LPs, movies, CD's, games. And spent all of my savings. This was 10 years ago, haven't touched it since.
I'm just giving some advice, not trying to put anyone down.

I had never heard it mentioned beforeI had tried it, so that wasn't the case in my situation

I've used it off and on for years, going sometimes years in between.. Last time I used it was over a month ago, and I have some sitting right here (so it's not like lack of availability has prevented me from using). So not everyone who uses ends up addicted.. If you know you have an addictive personality / you are looking for something to fill that emptiness that is the reason so many people become addicted to various drugs, then it's best to stay away from addicting drugs. Otherwise as long as you practice self control addiction can be prevented. It's not some magical dragon that enslaves you.

I've had a problem with opiates before, and I do not understand how people get addicted to meth or coke. The comedown you feel from that shit, and just in general how shitty you feel most of the time when you do it doesn't make any sense to me. The high is great, but the downsides outweigh the good even before you have a problem with it.

I used to think the same way about the drugs you mentioned, but then I realized that not everyone reacts the way to those drugs the way that the media portrays them to. If I do coke I can buy a bag, do a few lines, decide "eh, it's late enough, I'm going to bed" and put the bag away, drink a beer and go to sleep. Save the rest for a rainy day. I'm fine with stims as far as addiction goes, I just don't enjoy them enough. Opiates are another story. Every time I've done them I fucking loved it. So you know what I don't do? Buy opiates. Or even do them if they're offered to me.
