left to right Laccaria laccata, the deceiver, Hypomyces lactifluorum, lobster fungus. Cantherellus cibarius, Common chanterelle.

Nice mushrooms! Good pictures too! Those lobsters sure are pretty. I would like to see some of those sometime but I'm not sure if Alaska is a likely spot to see any. I have found some chanterelles and deceivers though.

nope, they are a fungal infection of the lactarius genus, apparently they also occur in russulas, but how would anyone know that? i find their size and shape indicative of Lactarius pyrogalus, and they sometimes grow in patches of this mushroom, usually however, its either infected or non.
to the lobster fungus, lactarius is non, non must become juffo-wup or void. this is the way of the mycon. (guess the reference)
