If you want math to be easy, you gotta potentiate those synapses on a consistent basis.
How can I? You ask. Simple...
How do you get better at playing video games, working out, relationships? You PRACTICE!
Download the game,"math workout" and "trig quizzer" for android phones. Commit to playing it at least ONCE a day.
I promise you that math will get easier and faster to solve!
I started off finishing 20 math questions on hard in 2:20. Now I can pull it off in 31 seconds(new record).
Start off on easy though, so your mind gets the hand of simple math, then progress to more complex functions.
I got to FEEL the mental shortcuts my mind uses after doing the same problem like 100s of times.
18 + 26 ? Add the ones, then add to tens... 14 + 30 = 44. The faster you wanna get, the more your brain seeks shortcut!!
NEVER GIVE UP IN MATH! That is called failure. I KNOW I am going to struggle when I get to multivariable calculus...I compare that to running a triathlon. I gotta TRAIN if I wanna ace that mofo.
Best of luck and practice math every day!

The last time I worked with an engineer, I found myself unable to cheat off of him (them, actually) because I kept finding mistakes in their work.
One, who graduated with a Civil Engineering degree after Calc I-III, Diff EQ, Statics, etc. was hired with a prestigious engineering firm.
They paid him to sit on a train and stare at the tracks looking for cracks indicating that a new rail was needed there.
12 hours a day, living in hotels, all over the midwest... staring at train tracks.
Luckily he's got a much better gig now but those of us in proper sciences LOVE to make fun of engineers

DUDE THIS IS FUCKING GREAT. Gots to find me an iOS version
Till then, I'm using the same Calculus books I used as a teenager and (GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE), after a couple days of staring on horror at equations such as x^2 + x + 1 and wonder what the fuck "complete the square" means...
It all comes back, and fast.
Have heart, fellow math enthusiasts and reluctant participants.
That said, you can't possibly ever be to ready for higher math.

in certain people, doing math activates some of the same areas of the brain that are stimulated during physical pain.

uh is that story real? I'm not an engineer and i'm pretty dumb but i thought of 1 or 2 ways to replace that job with a 50 dollar robot in about 3 seconds.

That is incredibly ignorant.
also offensive to engineers

Find the resistance between 2 arbitrary nodes in an infinite 4 dimensional resistor grid of 500 ohm resistors

if you love math
and if you solve it, there will be another question, just with complex ohm resistors I'm sure they exist, just for the math fun

All I remember for ohms is that it is the voltage divided by the current? (Ohm's law) lol
I cants wait til I finish calc 1 and start general physics. Imma become so knowledgeable not until next year though lol

"proper" science makes you sound extremely snobby man.

Proper was probably a poor word to use. Natural science wouldn't have covered what I meant though. How's traditional science?
And it's not offensive to engineers. When I posted a rather funny text conversation an Anthropologist/Mathemetician and myself had on facebook making fun of engineers, they pretty much all agreed lol.

You've bested me for one. One thing I will give engineers is they (if they continue their studies instead of looking at train tracks--that's a true story BTW but not one that could be solved in $50 exactly) do get very good at computation in some VERY specialized areas.
Make good inventors too.
