Habitat: Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
On a grassy weedy trail In a woodsy environment not far from the bay and ocean on the southern fork of long island,ny..... Temperature cools down quite a bit at night now that it is fall maybe in the low 50,s or high 40,s...... There are plenty of deer and wild turkeys that roam the area.......
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. black or dark brown Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc Not a thick stem and about an inch in length
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
About the size of a nickel or quarter, on the tan side
Spore print color: Very important!
B Black or dark brown......
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
If any bruising I can't really tell if it's a light color or dark color but no blurring that I noticed.......
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

I live not far from that area and do a lot of mushroom hunting - a small, brownish mushroom with a dark spore print can really be any number of things and without a picture it's impossible to guess. There are a lot of good, easy to identify edibles fruiting around here in the fall so if you're already poking around the woods maybe keep an eye out for them too.

The first two could be Lacrymaria velutina, other three seem to be Agrocybe pediades

I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this.
