Newbie over here...slow colonization. Are my temps too high?

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum and this is my first batch of psilos. I need your input. We are now just past a MONTH and my cakes have only colonized anywhere from 25%, all the way to just under 50%. My jars are wide mouth pints. Is it possible that it's the temperature? I'm rocking a temp from anywhere between 82 and 92...I've mistakenly had it as high as 99 at one time, due to my central air taking a crap and me being away. Are high temps my issue? And if so, where should it be?
Thanks for the input in advance.

Question #1. Yep Question #2. Yep Question #3. Lower----room temperature or 75-79.
You have most likely dried out your substrate, and this is why they are taking so long to colonize.
As always, a picture is worth a thousand words.

70-80 would be better. Also if you didn't get your moisture content spot on, that could be an issue as well.
Remember the inside of your jars will be a few degrees warmer than the ambient temperature.

Your temps are certainly too high because 70-80F is what you want. High temps make it easy for bacteria to party in your jars.
I am sorry to tell you that your jars are probably contaminated.
Don't lose confidence though. Start over and carefully plan your grow so as to avoid other mistakes.

Wow guys...thanks for the quick responses. But damn, is it pretty certain that ALL of my stuff is contaminated now? There's maybe only about two that I've seen that don't look completely white. I have a couple others that are fluffy white but with slight yellowish white edges. Other than that, they just look like they're not colonizing. You're breaking my heart...don't tell me that.

You cooked them. Bring them down to room temp, and wait and see. For most people it seems like when it's the first grow you really want to get something out of all the time and energy you spent prepping and watching and messing with your jars. The sad fact is that most of these people who say to, "start over" don't realize you used all of your spores on the initial grow. Truth be told if those jars don't produce you have nothing to show and no MS to continue trying.
I think I am going to make a write up that talks about the importance of saving some syringes for a possible second grow for new growers.
Honestly, they are probably totally contaminated, but if you have no other choice, just wait and see.
I just jar-birthed some Wild Goliad mushrooms that I picked and domesticated 6 years ago, and I wasn't smart enough to leave myself enough prints. The 3 jars are the last of their kind and if they do not produce a print I am screwed.
GL man. I hope it turns out well.

if you still have the empty syringe, and you DID NOT suck dirty air in or washed it you can still pull off an emergency LC, preparing some karo water at 4% sterilizing it and sucking that karo water in the syringe, you may be able to pull of a liquid culture in the syringe, since there are still viable spores stuck to the inside walls
