Like ive always said - millet grows better looking, chunkier, more potent fruits - and bigger yields too. Just ask Major Millet. Check this out: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...part=1&vc=1 (hope you dont mind starter) and enjoy:

I tried using millet a few times but I always got contams. Maybe its because I didn't let my PC cool down before opening the sucker.

my dog thinks it best for spawn to lots of inoculation points he only lets his presure cooker cool until the presure is zero before opening (got to hurry up and set up for next run)he never has any problems with it he don't use polyfill or tyvek either he just turns the lids upside down and incubates in a styro cooler sprayed with lysol

I didn't know you could fruit it straight up as a cake, I thought you had to case it. What does one cake yield?

No probs at all. One thing I like about millet is it's clean and doesn't smell much when PC'ed. Perfect for indoor use without the missus on your back.

Read again comario2. he was planning on using them for poo/straw, but he's using millet in them for now. That's a lot of millet for 1 casing though!

Thats a millet casing. If you spawned that much straw or manure you wouldnt get that much in terms of yield. Sure its cheaper and you can go bulk - so that's the benefit, but millet yields the healthiest cubies on the planet. Compost is the best bulk substrate ive used, millet the best high nutrient substrate.
