id request - any closer to p. cyanescens?
    #18880187 - 09/23/13 11:25 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Found these on the side of the road in amongst some woodchips, and in the short grass nearby. I will attempt a spore print shortly.

Looks like a mixed collection, some Laccaria species and some maybe an Inocybe species.

No one is when they first start out, give it time and patients and you'll get better.
The mushrooms you're looking for have a chalk white stem that turns blue when you handle it, it's hard to miss.

I will certainly do that. I think I have a new hobby - I did never think how interesting finding and looking at mushrooms would be.
I would like to find active mushrooms, but have enjoyed "looking" very much this weekend, at all of them. I keep taking blurry pictures, that is disappointing. Some I found today looked like coral.
I will remember the chalk white stem when looking for cyanescens though. I hope I find some.
