Doing all Xfers of ANY sort near a Bunsen burner

I can pick up bunsan burners at the science company near my home for $8.95 a piece. Shit I can setup like 2-4 of them. They're pretty damn cheap to say how much they would help us.
Apparently, I learned in microbiology that a Bunsen burner sterilizes the air around the flame up to 12 inches (1 ft) in spherical diameter around the flame. So you set up 2 or 3, and u got 2-3ft of clean sterilized air to open agar dishes, g2g xfer, inoculate, do anything that has to do with our booms growing basically. Fuck using a SAB ever again o.O? Less it's for something else, ya know?
U think this is a good investment, I do. I'm gonna try it out.

Right on, yea i'm gonna have to try this out. I'll be picking up 2 bunsen burners very soon before I do my agar dishes.

Man that is cheap, what kind of gas do they use? I remember in my lower year micro classes we just used bunsen burners and did lots of agar work. Just practiced sterile technique! I never used a laminar flow hood until I worked for in a food lab. Funny thing is, I experienced lots of contamination in the flow hood and none under the bunsen burner.

Oh I should add that the room was a big open space with about 20 benches that sat 4 people per bench. Each person had a bunsen burner so maybe our success was due to having 40 burners on at a time lol.

See! My point exactly! Seems like something shroomery should get up on, why you SAB when you can be free to move around your confined 1ft-(however many bunsen burners you have, and that's an oxymoron i think, free to move around the confined lmao), knowing 100% that area is sterile from all airborne and other contams. When the SAB isn't even a 100% resistant to contams, it only drastically increases your chances of a successful xfer/knock up/etc.
