They seem difficult to cultivate needing perfect growing conditions
maybe this suggests that cows have been around longer than we once thought?

Umm cubes would have spread with the trade of livestock. I don't really understand why it means cows have been around longer than we think (I have no knowledge on the evolution of cows). The mushroom hunting and identification forum is a much better place for this.

They are well suited to moist tropical climates and spores travel on the wind and remain viable for a very long time. I've also heard of spored traveling in the gut of bovines.

Pff you guys don;t know nothin about shrooms.
Its only obvious that shroom spores bombarded earth from outer space for eons on end. Prehistoric monkeys jizzed on the spores and thats where we come from.

If mushrooms were around before humans then we can say that when the world was one land mass thar they traveled through the air. IMO

Just because doing a grow in your house requires perfect growing conditions, doesn't mean they won't grow in less than perfect conditions. Remember, in the wild they grow naturally on cow fecies after traveling through the cows digestive system. This is the optimal growing conditions for cubes. When growing them in your house, you have to grow them differently. Also, I'm sure there's thousands and thousands of cubes that fail to grow in the wild, but there's also a lot more spores in the fields. When home growing, you're trying to get the smallest failure:success ratio.
Don't quote me on this, because this is just what I assume.

Kind of the same as marijuana, it has its specifics for growing but nature has its own way of placement

There was a study on cows 30 years ago by this college that no longer has a name. It had a name, but after someone stated that there was another college with that name in a different state they were forced to change it. They were checking the cows to test if they had attained optimal conditions to fertilize cubes. I remember reading about the cows being rounded up by farmers that felt the cows shouldn't be allowed there, that they would get in the way with the process of growing. They wanted to find out whether it would be possible to continue there growing experiments without sacrificing an essential part of the whole from cows, and they were keen on discovering exactly how they could make a way to work alongside cows, that is, to wit, to conduct tests on the cows in order to come to some kind of conclusion. Someone suggested the possibility that cows have existed in a much later period than we were originally informed about, that they existed over 300 years ago. They had real philosopher accounts of a location where cows resided during the time where the entire world had lost its leader, the leader of the cows had resigned to a lower position, leaving behind all his glory and joining the cows for once last glory show, and it was worthy of viewing for the sheer pleasure derived from cows. Then we discovered that the suggestions that cows were troubling the growth were inaccurate, they found out that they weren't stunting the growth but doubling it. They saw that they could successfully work with cows still present, and that it wouldn't trouble them one bit.

Nah; they're actually a very easy and resilient species. Heck, even liberty caps are pretty pervasive in the right climate and have you ever tried cultivating those?

hmm land fungi have been around for like 1300 million years, probably wind. possibly the wind from dragons wings, but definitely wind.
