Trichocereus terscheckii: light requirments/ indoor vs outdoor

I've decided to order 3 of these buggers off of ebay because they're only 4 bucks a piece with free shipping
I'm about to do my own research, but I'm not quite sure whether I should keep it outside, or keep it outside only in summer, and inside in the cold/rainy/long winters/falls I have here.
I'm considering getting a light for them for the winter since I suspect I'll have to do indoor to play it safe rot wise. But what kind of light should I get?
Any other tips and the like from other growers? thank you in advance!

Inside in the winter I always kept mine in minimal light. The general idea for overwintering them is to keep them in a cool low light area and not water them to induce a dormancy. Otherwise, they will pretty much never get enough light for their growth cycle indoors and will get all stretchy and thin and stuff. Then you gently introduce them to the sun in the spring/summer and have them in about half day sun once they are hardened off to the sun. That's what's worked well for me anyways when I lived in a cold winter climate. Now I live in So Cal and don't have to worry about such things.

Alright thank you! I'll have to look up how long the seasons last in its natural climate.

Just look at your regional weather. If its getting rainy and the sun isn't shining anymore get them in. If the sun is shining more often get them out, beginning with a shady place and eventually full sun. Also watch the temp. I have noticed the last days/weeks that my cacti didn't grew despite a lot of sun. Temperature wasn't that high around here so I think this was the reason.

Indoors you cannot get T. Terscheckii appearance at it would be.
I have kept it in greenhouse at summer to get cactus enjoy full sun. Indoors at fall and spring I give these artificial light with windowsill light but nothing is best for this cactus than sunlight outdoors in greenhouse or at warm climate without greenhouse just keep it in strong sunlight.
I cannot my self keep even 6months of the year cacti in greenhouse but the time I can keep them in greenhouse, It's because they look very good plants cause of good appearance they got from the time they has been in greenhouse.
At winter they grow so slow that actually indoors kept and etiolation ain't so bad that is shows so much in appearance of the cactus.
Best is full sun, indoor cultivation cactus totally needs HPS/MH light bulb to get it appearance very good. One factor is good fertilizers during growth season to get vigorous nice spines to cactus.
