well method
Introduction: this method is created to ensure a temp of 75 to 85 degrees. this will allow your jars to maintain a good temperature through the fall/winter seasons.
Caution: some jars are made too airy and may have a high buoyancy. to test if your jar would work with this method i advise using a pitcher filling it with water and placing your jar in there.
be sure to label at which height you want your water at. the higher the better but you shouldn't submerge your jars completely.
supplies: inoculated jars mini 10 watt heater (sold at petsmart for fishtanks) pp5 tub

step 1: proceed to fill the tub to the desired hight.

step 2: place your jars in a circle around the heater.

step3: wait 24 hours then temp the water. you want your water at a constant 75 to 85 degrees.
Adding bleach or peroxide is advisable to prevent bacteria.

No, what you do is put another tub on top of that one, keep the water warm, and then put the jars in the dry tub. A tub-in-tub incubator. You don't want your jars sitting in standing water.

as long as the water doesnt get into your jars it shouldnt matter.... putting a tub into another tub gets the top tub warmer but its 10 degrees lower then the water... compared to the TiT tek this tek saves money for the 2nd tub and is better for bitter cold climates. i like keeping my apartment drafty.

The reason you don't want to put your jars in direct water is because bacteria and other nasty things can grow in the water. If you do this boommer, you should put a tad bit of bleach or peroxide in the water.

I would simply prefer to use a heat bomb, or a TiT, but if this works for you and others then thank you for sharing .

Yes those methods work but not for a very cold climate.

In a very cold climate use no incubator at all. In fact, incubators haven't been used much in the last decade because they end up causing far more problems than they solve.
In addition, floating jars in water is just asking for the saturation humidity to ruin the filters by getting them damp. This is not a good idea at all.
Most people heat their homes in the winter. If you're comfortable, then your mushrooms are too. It regularly gets down to -30F all winter here and I don't use an incubator because I heat the house. RR
