king bolete? need ID!!

hi all
i found these bad boys up in the white mountains of new hampshire today. are they king boletes? if so, are they still good to eat? they look fairly bug-ridden.

I'd say those are in the B. edulis group. I can see reticulation on the upper part of the stipe. I wouldn't hesitate to eat those. They don't look buggy, either.
With mushrooms that mature, I'd dry them first. It really enhances the flavor.

thats good to know, i was worried they might be the scaber stalk thing. yeah, i was lucky to come across them at all, the season up here has been pretty crappy, very little rain. i'll dry them as you suggest, should i cut them up and blow them with a fan? i dont have a dehydrator.

While I said that I wouldn't hesitate to eat these, I didn't mean that you should. Wait for a TI to confirm or correct my ID. I live in CA, so I'm not familiar with the mushrooms that grow in your area.
But I sure thinks its in the B. edulis group.
