You didn't say an infinite universe you said a mind. A mind is characterized by cognitive functions. Did you have something else in mind?

Good luck with a straight answer. Ya gotta love these make-believe 'what-if' threads wherein someone has a brain hiccup on drugs and then declares it as fact.

Intelligence is closely associated with cognitive processes. I'm having trouble imagining a non-cognitive intelligence. :scratch head:

If I didn't give up on humanity a long time ago, this thread would be frustrating.

When the universe contrives to create a receiver, a nervous system, then the universe can become aware of itself in different measures, depending upon the sophistication of the nervous system. So, 'God' experiences God through every animal, plant, and for all I know, mineral, according to its capacity. I remember building a crystal radio that received radio stations through a coil of wire and a single Germanium diode. I learned how to use a rusty (oxidized) razor blade and a piece of graphite pencil lead (trench radio), or a bit of raw Gallium arsenide instead of the diode. In fact, through a section of oxidized aluminum rain gutter over the front door of my parents' house, I could periodically hear intermittently, partial transmissions WVNJ, a local NJ radio station. If I tuned into it on a radio, it matched the amplitude of the vibrations that were coming through two sections of oxidized aluminum. This is just an analogy of how "Creative Intelligence" (as it's called in Transcendental Meditation®) becomes conscious and self-conscious.
If Awareness is the infrastructure of Reality as Buddhism suggests, then perhaps Plato was also correct about Pure Ideas inherent in it, and those Ideas are picked up by the most finely-tuned nervous systems, converted to thoughts, words, schematics, inventions, and hence our human-made physical world. Then the Creative Intelligence (god) gets to see through electron microscopes, Hubble space telescope, and human minds under the influence of Entheogens.

Have faith because i already explained it. Further analysis into this divine insight is not of necessity. All knowledge is nothing without love. All efforts are meaningless without a change. All understanding is in vain. We are not built to fight wars and complain. Life happens its strange rearrange, its worth the pain. Dont question everything youll go insane kick back relax and enjoy your claims, make others brighter and you'll love their ways BE GAY

You post things I agree with that have nothing to do with whether the universe is intelligent. I agree that in a way a human can be the universe pondering itself, enjoying itself, hating itself, killing itself, loving itself... etc. But saying the universe is intelligent could be taken to mean other things. I don't see any reason to believe in them so it seems best to refrain and not deal with the cognitive dissonance I would surely experience as a result of holding a belief I could not support with my own logic. This isn't about my 'life outlook' but about what seems true. Not anthropomorphizing the entire universe doesn't make me gloomy.
