Not far from Savannah GA, on downed Laurel Oaks on the coast.



This last shot of the lil cluster was taken in some heavy sprinkle (heavy, light rain duh!)and is deceiving in that it makes the caps looks a little smoother than in actuality:

Haha, I have a child's microscope that's good to get by on for spore shape i guess... I should mention they were very bitter. I was hoping for G. aeruginosus or something close, but have no idea.

Yes. They don't really bruise "blue" IME... the stems will just get darker, like brownish instead of orange.
Keep in mind Gymnopilus is just mildly active, so you can't compare their bluing to P. cubensis or Panaeolus cyanescens or somethin like that.

The darkening I have witnessed. I was expecting the green I've witnessed with G. junonius
