Do not bump your thread before 24 hours have passed :rules:

That's bacteria to my eyes, the metabolites are there as a response. I would let that flush run its course and then dump the substrate.

I´d cut it out, together with the surrounding tissue and anything that may have been soaked with tha liquid. The worst that can happen when you cut it out is that you loose some yield. The worst that can happen if you let it grow (or whatever it does) is something nasty and disgusting beyond comprehension - the dark side of this hobby.

No, it's just bacteria and excision will actually spread it more than leaving it be. Your mycelium is responding to it as much as it can.

Excising the contam never works, be it mold or bacteria. That is bad advice :whack:

Btw, that fluffy mycelium above the nasty yellow stuff there somehow doesn´t look like cubensis. strange things are going on in that tub.

if that is polyfill, then the nasty liquid may have been condensed water that has run down under that hole to finally become nasty. Maybe youre right, supermariodude, whatever it is, if its really evil it may already be everywhere.

The mycelium is definetly cubensis and what your seeing is rhizomorphic growing... i dont know what your saying that they dont look like cubensis... the tub is perfectly healthy i am pointing towards the yellow spot near the polyfill not the polyfill i know what that is XD.

and the shrooms you see are my second flush its pins

I used nothing but clean water and the shrooms are growing by the hour so i guess not a total loss.. this is just a mini mono its just 1 spawn anyways. already got a flush out of it... so to cut it out or not? and are you guys sure its bacteria? idk i thought so but it seems very healthy?

It's contained but it is bacteria. That slimy texture is not healthy.

Bacteria and most molds do not affect the whole substrate right away (like trichoderma does)

So the idea is that you should leave it, not cut it out, and let your mushrooms mature.

Harvest the flush, then toss the tub.

Once there is a bit of contam, there is more on the way.

Contams happen after the first flush. There's not really any way to avoid it. Some people get 4+ flushes...myself and others never get more than 2 or 3 tops.

Wow thanks for everything frank helped me a lot i was browsing other threads about this as well just wanted to know some of your guys opinion... hmmm so ill leave it then, i was going to cut it but ill just let it go and see what happens. Thats interesting, so usually theirs always contams? Because i was pretty sterile and careful with the dunking process as it was my first time ever doing so (maybe coulda been more careful but meh) . At least it looks like a healthy flush is on its way so thats cool i just hope it doesnt contam before they mature... or it doesnt spread much.. Thank you everyone and sorry for bumbing early.

polyfill is the stuff that doesn´t look like cubensis. I did´t know it was polyfill.

even if it was clean condensed water or metabolites before, after a few days there are bacteria in it. If Frank Horrigan has experience with that kind of thing, you should do as he has advised. I personally would still try a third flush afterwards.

Oh if the bacteria doesnt gnarly up the substrate too crazy then i def will be going for a 3rd flush as this was a blotched project from the get go and im trying to make the most out of it (first attempt ever ended up throwing all my spawn out thinking it was cobweb mold only kept this one that you guys are seeing in my mini mono). If it starts to mass spread i might cut it out but thats only if its really extreme last decision type of thing ill leave it be for now and see how it goes. the pins are getting bigger and theirs more than my first flush so thats cool. damn bacteria!

oh and just a thought it acually might be the polyfil fibers getting into the mycelium and causing a contam? idk though but the water was yellow when i drained it from the tub.. no sour smells though at all justy earth mushroom goodness and slight coir

I assume the moistue in the air condensed especially on the polyfill and ran down below it. And became nasty after it had become a puddle. the polyfill itself shouldn´t do anything to the mycelium.

Whatever your second and third fush will be like, post it.

Have you ever used a monotub?

Moisture evaporates around the holes. That is where the air exchange occurs. The substrate under the holes will always be a little drier with good conditions.

Yea i will def keep you guys posted.... the yellowing occured so random over night so it had me worried... my first flush wasnt huge i did get one huge fruit that came out to a eighth dried but not much this flush actually is looking better minus the bacteria :mad2:.

But hoping for the best is all i can do.. i called this spawn the domestic violence spawn because they took literally 4 months to show any sighns of anything  i thought they were doomed so i would leave them in my car at literally temps above 100 degrees and it still fruited and everything! and then i thought it was cobweb mold so i threw 4 of them away! ya ima noob XD
