P. semilanceata jars - what to do?
    #18876220 - 09/22/13 02:37 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hi! I have two fully colonized jars of P. semilanceata. Substrate is grass seed, straw. Temp. was 19-21 °C and they were colonized within 3.5 weeks. Now, my question is: What to do? For this first trial I would avoid indoor fruiting trials (to difficult for me). Is it possible to transfer the spawn to a lawn or something? How to do this in detail? I read in several threads (Cptn. Future, Workman) and found a lot of helpful hints to start this........but I think, I need more help..

Thanks!

MND

p.s.: Pictures of the jars in the next days.

Cultivation of Ps. Semilanceata is definitely not for beginners. Indoor cultivation is extremely difficult and, most of times, unsuccessful.

Your best bet is to start an outdoor patch.

Thanks for the link, LeopardMan! I´ve done this and hopefully see some fruits sometimes. I know,, that the cultivation of liberty caps isn´t for noobs - I tried it to become more skilled (and for fun, of course) and would do some more experiments with this species. I also started a LC from a clean agar culture to have more material to experiment with. It grows nicely in a liquid substrate, consisting of 2.5% honey water :-).
