A few hundred liberty caps, some sheep and a collection of mushrooms sharing the habitat * 1
    #18874634 - 09/22/13 03:39 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

I finally got some rain and low temps. So I headed out to the sheep pastures yeilding 1200 libs last year and managed to pick a few hundred in three hours.

Mushroom species sharing this habitat:

1. Laccaria
2. Stropharia semiglobata
3. Galerina?
4. Entoloma?
5. Psilocybe semilanceata
6. Agrocybe?
7. Conocybe
8. Conocybe (this species was 5 times more common than libs and often grows just a few inches away)
9. Hygrocybe
10. Hygrocybe

More detailed ID of the species is appreciated.

6 Agrocybe.
H. reidii and H. coccinea are possible for 9 and 10. I'd best trust on the Laccaria since I can't see gills but we know you're good.

Wicked work!

nice job, but be careful, they are very strong this year. ate 50 last year had a medium trip. ate 50 this year and had one of the heaviest trips ever

joje:

Thanks. I even forgot to put number 6 in the list...
The laccara had slightly violet gills.

I don't believe in that kind of potency variations. But I do believe the same dose (from the same harvest) can result in different trips due to different set and setting...

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Hello.  Looks like a very nice find.

Im new here and certainly uniformed but i saw something that looked very close to that growing nearby last month.  Of course i know pics, a description and a print would help but i only saw one a few days ago and didnt harvest any when i first saw them.  I will pick some if they return but im thinking the time may have passed for them since they arent coming back as they were up until a few weeks ago.  BTW im In eastern pa.
