You're right man.
I'm so tired of being a slave to this shit. That's literally what I feel like. It sucks to not be in control of yourself.

I understand man. If you ever want to PM me then don't hesitate! Withdrawals are possible to get through by having friends in your life whom you can relate your experiences to while they happen. Don't keep your feelings to yourself. I'll be your friend

It isn't like the alternative is anything better than this, you really need to look at your addiction as "where the fuck will this take me a year from now" instead of how is tomorrow going to look. Being strung out you never think long term, its always this week or next. Your tolerance probably isn't going to decrease and the price of opiates isn't going to go down. Make a game plan, a serious one and go from there. Your current game plan probably isn't going to work.

That's true, but my current game plan is to get off the shit. I'm past the point of enjoying them by any means. I feel good while i'm high but that's about it. I wouldn't even say I feel good honestly, I would say I feel normal. I forget what it's like to be sober and feel okay. Just picked up a little herb which will hopefully keep me feeling like i'm not dying and I can go all weekend with nothing at all. I feel if I can make it through this weekend and start feeling a little better than I can make it for good. I'm mentally prepared to be done with them. I'm just not physically/mentally through it yet.

You don't need to convince me, just look at your track record and seriously think to see how things will probably work out. I really do know you want to get off of them, but its not easy to go from point A to point E without making a serious step by step plan. If you think you can do it, try it. If you need support, you can see all the people in here offering to help you all you need to do is PM them. A lot of people here have had similar issues and we really do want to help you get off that shit. I don't wish opiate addiction on to my enemys, I sure as hell don't want anyone from here to have to deal with that.

I haven't dealt with an opiate addiction personally, so I can't relate on that level. However, I think I know enough about the experience of opiate addiction to have a valid opinion.
Honestly, if I were you OP, I'd quit cold turkey. Opiate withdrawal can not kill you. You will feel like you're going to die, but you won't. Just stay strong and have friend in tough during withdrawals.
