Just a couple shots

Woohoo, first mushrooms are starting to emerge! Here are just a couple pictures, I didn't take many, but there weren't many to take. A couple Pluteus and Xerula here an there. Next couple of weeks should be interesting.

Tall grass as far as the eye can see. 1000 m altitude, frequented by horses, deer and some sheep. Potential semilanceata habitat? Would be interesting to find out.

Tangich, that last shot is really nice...must have been a great hike!
I always keep a lookout for earth-stars to photograph but I've never gotten to any before they turn rotten/beat up. Looking forward to seeing what you find this fall!

Hence forth, your first mushroom shall be known as Zebranopsis picacea.
What a neat coprinoid! Never seen those before - The veil remnant patches are cool. Thanks for sharing.

I see that C. cinereus is listed as a Craterellus species on MO, but everywhere else, including Index fungorum, it is still in Cantharellus. What I care about tough, is that it's taste and smell are even better than C. cornucopioides! Here is one more picture of it

The picture doesn't show it, but that C. picacea is enormous, it was about as tall as my knee! There were some even taller deliquescensced ones, all in all it is very pretty and fascinating species!

I can definitely understand why they would be categorized in Craterellus.

Agrocybe aegerita in December!! Haven't seen barely any mushrooms for weeks now except an odd Hellvela and Entoloma here and there, and then I spot this cluster today coming back from a bike ride! Exhilarating!
