If this gets moved, then I'm starting a "PUB of MH&I Thread" I don't see why our important yet nonsensical mushroom-related banter should be viewed and commented by the mass public of shroomery. It's just too muddy in those waters... We need a forum in MH&I where we can just talk, where its all us cool hunters and identifiers, and anyone else who wants to chime in.

an official sub forum would be perfect. we shoud get that done. Like the other subforums. MH&I Pub. these threads really dont belong here, but i understand where you are coming from and id like a place to chat to besides the pub.. i dont like the pub...

And i agree Hashfinger. The MHNI show your herb thread basically died shortly after being moved to the pub. Was a shame.

It has crossed my mind before too. Andyistic will just tell you to make a user created forum, but maybe you could appeal to Alan to broach the subject. I think hunters lodge would be a cool name and that there should be a post restriction, 100 posts in MHI to view or some such.

I think it would be useful to alleviate some of the otd in MHI. Too much off topic talk can make the forum feel clique-y to some and it surely intimidates new members. I think it is great that this forum does foster friendships, I genuinely care about all sorts of folks here. I'd hate to see that element diminish, but I do feel like their needs to be more of a spirit of learning and teaching in the ID forum. It's BS when someone with 3 posts gets 10+ otd responses in their thread when they don't know anybody who is posting and don't get the inside jokes.

I agree completely, i know i make these jokes probably the most out of anyone, and its not meant to hold information or put someone down, or leave them out. but i just love making jokes with my friends. I try to hold them down, but when they are so good like:
User_7 and i with the wars Ganzig, and poking fun at him referring to "the legend" JILMS "Dont eat the type collection" -Alan quote the shroomery card deck Alan, photoshoot, prinose stipe....
I mean the list goes on and on...
paul lip or us.... ..... ... ...

Well, it is the internet after all... I think the folks here on MH&I are pretty down to earth, and as far as mushroom knowledge goes, we're all about spreading it to who needs and wants it and has done the prerequisite research on their questions, etc etc... Regardless of the otd, as long as the person asking questions gets a TI's ID on their mushroom or a trusted member's opinion on some other matter, then we can all sleep soundly. Oh yeah. Jilms.
