Never thought about it like that before. Now that I think back on it it's possible but I couldn't really say for sure. I hope not.

MIND BLOWN!
Yeah, you're right - but you have to admit that the usual: "Hey, so how about those Dodgers 4th quarter touchdown last night?"
- Is a whole lot harder to conversate about then topics posted on Shroomery.
One thing I find funny about sports guys... is that they say 'We' when they talk about their favorite teams. They're like: "Did you see when we won the world cup in basketball last year?"
I'm like: "Really you were there - making the touch down with them?!"
LOL!

i always deflect any sports-related question with "naw man, i don't give a damn about golf.".. unless they are talking about golf, in which case "fuck hockey.".. it gets yr point that you don't dig sports across, usually with a chuckle... while they chuckle, steer conversation in a direction that YOU choose... drag them along whether they like it or not... if they look at you like you've got a booger, move right along... probably not people you want to talk to anyway...
if it's feasible, get a part-time job bartending... it doesn't have to be a long-term plan... it just puts you in the center of small-talk heaven, without having to pickle your liver... you'll be a small-talk jedi within a couple months, whether you like it or not, by default... it's a fringe-benefit of the job...

Ugh!
I hate it when people start talking shit about race at work.
I'm like really? What does this have to do with anything?
Usually, I'll sit there and try to steer the conversation elsewhere but I just said my opinion today. I said:
"I think that race only really matters these days, if you're in a prison gang - or if you're involved in racial politics. I see nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage, but when I hear people putting others down solely based on their race - I usually conclude that those people are trying to make up for other... inadequacies."
Then their faces turned red as they started talking about how many black friends they have, and how much they're proud to be an American.
If we work together, I honestly don't care if you're racist or not.
As long as we conduct ourselves in a professional manner and get our jobs done right - you could goose step your way home for all I care!
