Found these in Georgia woods
    #18869992 - 09/20/13 10:40 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:

Shaded, cooler area of the woods at the base of a tree

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Stem:
Hollow stems, 1/4 diameter adults, with tiny patches of little guys. White stems at first, then began to turn greyish-blue a few days later. Maybe greyish-purple? I can't tell.

Cap:
3" diameter adult caps, huge gills for fully opened adults, convexing when fully opened.

Bruising:
Greyish blue, or greyish purple, can't quite tell.

Armillaria tabescens. I don't see any bruising.

Ah, yes. I went back 2 days later and that's when I saw the bruising. Don't have the pics of the bruising.

I guess these are just ordinary fungi? I can't find anything about them having special capabilities......:\

They're supposed to be tasty if thoroughly cooked (though wait for a TI before consuming).

100% Armillaria.

Not so regular if you consider the fact that one of the largest beings on
this planet is an Armillaria!
