Gymnopilus species?

i have found this mushroom growing in pine needles. they just started coming up everywhere. i live in north iadho and i am still learning about the Gymnopilus species so i might be wrong. the spore print is rust brown

Maybe a Cortinarius. Gyms grow from wood.

Was it growing in the ground with pine needles or directly on wood?  If wood how rotted was it?  Like Ganzig says looks like a Cortinarius.
