I want to start growing edibles now im done with cubes. I like growing mushrooms but dont want to go to jail and I love adding them to a lot of foods. What would you guys reccomend to start with that is fairly easy, can be used for a lot of differnt things (salads, stir fry, grilled, sautéed, you get the pic) I tryed the search engine but I suck at it and got more responses for things I didnt want to know about.
Thanks

Oysters are the easiest to grow edible. They are aggressive enough to keep contams minimized and can be done sterile or pasteurized. Once you have them under control, try shiitakes. They are more versatile in the kitchen.

Depends on a few things...
Mainly, what kind of fruiting chamber are you planning on using? Anyone can grow oysters but if you can't give 'em enough air they'll be kinda crappy.
If you can get wood pellets, filter patch bags, and have a PC you have quite a few options, even without a greenhouse. Shiitake is fairly easy if you've got some patience. Black poplar can grow in high CO2 environments like cubes.
Let us know what you're working with and we can help a little more

Ok, only experience I have is cubes and I do have a pc and hard wood and or pellets is easily obtainable. I have a sgfc but I can make anything I need to grow em if it can be made at home.

Yeah you can fruit some stuff in a SGFC, black poplar like I mentioned would probably do well if you keep it cool. Shiitake would do fine, although they do better with more air. Even oysters might do OK, if a little leggy. Beech would do well, but it's more difficult to figure out how to fruit. Enoki maybe?
But if you wanna build a greenhouse your options are endless. It's about $30 for the base cheapo model a lot of us use, add a $30-$40 humidifier and you're good to go.

I searched for the grenhouses and I do have 2 of them small uprights with like 5 shelves I seen, I can use them now that I got the big one for plants outside. I will do some more research now that I have some info to start with. What do you think about buttons? Think a beginner can pull em off? I think I will but some oysters and shiitake for now, I love the flavor of the 2

Black poplar I think is the winner for #1 attempt. And suggestions, I am going to read as much as I can but its kinda hard to find info for edibles.
