Help! Casing! Please!
    #1886875 - 09/05/03 11:39 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Hey, my friends casing which looked like this right before he birthed it is in fruiting right now. It has been for two days about so far he says. He says the layers on top look like they're trying to colonize the rest of the verm. casing layer on top. The humidity is at 99% right now because he can't get it any lower for the moment, the temperature is 70-80 degrees throughout the day he tells me. Any suggestions as to how to get this to pin asap and if this thing tring to colonize the verm layer is ok? Bad idea? How should he fix it? Etc?
-Mr.Sleep

I would say wait another day or two, and try to get a steady 72-74 temp with lots of air-exchange!  Stay kool, don't get off the bus yet!

Everything is fine. You will get pins in no time. This isn't 100% crucial but try and get the RH down if you can. And make sure it gets lots of fresh air. It looks fine.

Smeagal thinks you should patch that with a real thin layer .
keep rh up until it pins . and fan, mist, fan, fan .

Lot's of fanning is good. If you're in a hurry you can try cold shocking or just placing some clean ice packs in the terrarium. It looks good though. Sometimes pins just take a while.
