Urge to hurt small animals 1

Let me first say, I've never really acted on this urge.
It just kinda freaks me out when I see pictures of helpless kittens or dogs and all I want to do is pin them down and listen to them struggle.
I would never do it to my own pets, because I know them. But random helpless animals almost make me angry inside. I dunno what to do with these feelings, other than not share them with close friends of course

animal cruelty is part of the serial killer trio. def talk to somebody if you'd prefer not to act on these.

There was a guy out here who would go snatch peoples cats for no reason and kill them. He was caught on camera.
That's really sad. Killing basically someones family member for what? I bet you'd kill a small child, too.
Sick fuck. Burn in hell.

you'd all condemn me even though I've never acted on it?
sweet. glad I came here with my problems.
It's so easy to say "burn in hell sick fuck," just because you don't understand.

See a therapist. Express yourself. Don't bottle it up. Create accountability.

I'm thinking maybe there is something Darwinian about it. there's definitely some incredibly interesting psychological issue at the center of this.
Or just close your mind to new information because i can "go to hell," since you guys have nothing new to learn apparently.

I have the same problem, it runs in my family evidently, because both of my brothers both have it as well. I dunno what it is, just a weird urge. Recognizing it is the healthy thing to do, the unhealthy thing to do would be to just pretend like it isn't there. Just because you have urges doesn't mean you have to act on them. I have all kinds of weird urges, like when I'm using a power saw I'll have the urge to touch the blade while it's moving.. It used to bother me, but it doesn't so much anymore. It's just one of my many idiosyncrasies.
I don't really have any advice to give you (that you haven't gotten already: see a therapist) just wanted you to know you're not alone I guess. Just ignore the people who are getting all irate about it, it's the sign of a weak human mind to just get angry at what you can't/don't understand. Not worth worrying about.
I bet they're all homophobes who get mad at gay people and go scream at gay people's funerals. (Generalizations are fun, aren't they?)

they are. Just one person seeing it a different way helped me immensely. I'll be much more likely to talk to the right people about it when people are supportive and helpful like you
generalizations ARE fun

May I ask, were you abused as child? The reason I ask is because someone I know was, severely. He went on to torture small animals and ended up in the slammer for an atrocious crime against a woman.
It's the whole nature vs. nurture thing.
Please do seek professional help though OP!!

i don't remember getting butthurt. I defended my position in a rational way.

I was abused as a kid but in a non-conventional way. More verbal punishments, and being isolated OFTEN. (if you can even call that abuse, I just am right now for simplicity)
I'm the result of stewing in my own thoughts for 20 some years. So talking to you people can really help me

Dexter.
Harry's code is a set of rules that allow Dexter to be a serial killer and avoid the morality issues Harry had with him killing people and to keep Dexter from getting caught.
