Why do things always grow in my 'sterile' water?

I've done this twice now and after a week or less I always see very clear growth filling the jars. I'll take a qt or pt jar, fill it with water, put a regular metal lid w/band, a felt GE port and silicone self healing injection port on it and PC for ~45 minutes which should be more than enough time to sterilize a liquid. Yet soon enough the jar is full of white flakes and wisps, this is without ever penetrating the self healing injection port to withdraw some water or of course opening the jar. Is there something obvious I'm not doing? Is this an indication that there's something wrong with my lids? What's the deal w/this? I've used the same jars and lids to make grain jars which I've shelved for ~2 months before and never saw any growth in them (with a few exceptions, generally older rusted lids I believe were the culprit).

Yeah, I'm wondering whether it's maybe minerals gathering or something which I can't see beforehand, but it looks like growth. I'm using GE lids made from felt, that should be appropriate to block contams right? I made them following a tek on here anyway which said it would work . I have had a lot of trich show up after spawning, but my jars always look and smell clean, maybe my lids have been allowing contams in this whole time?

Felt? I haven't seen that tek. Have you considered tyvek?
My second guess is crystallization of minerals in your water.

Here's one tek, there might be others. I did mine a bit different, but it should work just as well. I drilled a 1/4" - 3/8" (I have different lids) hole into the lid and cut a piece of felt to fit over this hole. Then I used silicone to glue the felt underneath the hole. Holds well and other than this I haven't noticed a problem with it. Whether there is actually a problem I'm not sure, my monotubs get contaminated with trich more than not, so perhaps this is why? Like I said I never see anything in my jars though. I used to use micropore tape. The felt is often wet when it comes out of the PC, maybe that's why? I'm going to PC two jars tonight, one after opening/taking the foil off I'll cover the felt hole with micropore tape (in my SAB), and the other I'll leave as is. That should determine whether it's an issue with the felt or not.
edit: I was wondering if it's mineral crystallization as well, but would they be white and even wispy? It looks just like mycilium growing really, though of course it can't be since the jars haven't been touched. Actually one of the two jars I did withdraw some liquid from, but the needle was sterile, and all the same the other jar wasn't touched. I'm using well water that is so loaded with minerals (and who knows what else) that you can very strongly taste it in there so it's a possibility. I'd think any minerals would not necessarily be white however and also they should sink to the bottom as opposed to floating around freely in suspension.

I read a thread the other day about Tyvek vs. Poly and i can't seem to find it, a trusted person responded and stating Along the lines of: Tyvek being pressure cooked doesn't keep it's consistency and will allow contams....
Poly Fill seems to be the way if not using SFD.

That is not an age-old question, nor a controversial one. There's numerous filter materials to use, tyvek being one of the least suitable since the pore size changes when exposed to heat. Simply use what's available in your area, depending on your task. In other words, don't stick a syringe through tyvek or filter disks, etc., but you can inject through polyfill. RR

Well I'm going to do this test to see what happens, but either way from now on I'm going to tape over my GE port with micropore tape to be on the safe side. I've had so many contaminants recently and I don't know what it is. I was thinking the most likely thing was that my sub and/or spawn was oversaturated, but even then they have been less saturated than so many successful grows in the past so it didn't seem likely. If this whole time it's just been my lids allowing in an unnoticable amount of contams then... ugh... I can't believe it could be so simple. Until now I hadn't even considered that. I've upped my sterile technique like crazy and I still get these issues.
In the past I lived in an older, rather unclean, apartment. I'd work in the open air even. I'd oversaturate things, pull off my foil in the open air and just inject after wiping down with alcohol, I'd often even spawn and do nothing but wash my hands. After so many successful grows I started slacking off from even those basic sterile practices and didn't have issues. These days I'll work in a SAB, clean the shit out of the room, cut off airflow of any source, etc, and I get contam after contam. I'm thinking it might actually be these ports were the issue the whole time, it's still not clearly the case (time will tell), but it's the first thing that makes much sense.

SFDs are cheap on out-grow. Get a couple of 70mm discs and cut them to size, won't cost you more than 5 bucks after shipping.

Tape over GE port? I think RR says he tapes over inoc. holes, but you can inoc through GE/Poly fill hole eh? Micro spore tape will allow air, but doesn't promise to prevent any contam's...check out their website.
I just recently took off all Tyvek on my jars and went ahead and stuffed them w/ poly after reading why Tyvek on PC Jars are no good...i had good experience w/ bag's and taping tyvek on them...but they weren't heated either. It makes since eh?

maybe minerals appear after some water evaporated due to the heat from pressure cooking.

Yeah after researching micropore tape I think I might make some polyfill lids instead, I already have plenty on hand anyway. I have used micropore tape in the past without issue though. I'd order some proper filter discs, but I don't currently have a credit card to do so.

No, I have a seperate self healing injection port which I inoculate through.
